Custom-Built Bars
Enhancing your entertaining space
If you’re looking to enhance your living room, kitchen or basement, a bar might be just what you’re looking for. It’s a great way to bring your entertainment game to the next level and add more social space to your home.
Before you start dreaming of your future gatherings though, you may want to review the two types of bars you can install and then determine your needs. There are two types of bars that can be installed; a wet bar and a dry bar. A wet bar is a bar that has a sink installed and can feature appliances like a fridge and an ice maker. A dry bar has no plumbing installed, and though less common, can include a small beer and/or wine fridge.
So, how does one go about deciding which one is the right one? Let’s take a look at the pros and cons of both wet and dry bars.
If you’re thinking of building a bar in your basement, or somewhere away from your kitchen, it may be more convenient to build a wet bar. This way, you won’t need to hit the kitchen every time you need water to rinse out a glass or clean up any spills. But, if you’re building the bar in your basement and you don’t have plumbing already available, adding a wet bar may become a big hassle and costly.
Dry bars are becoming more popular and perfect for those that want to artfully display their special bottles and glassware. Although dry bars are only ideal for entertaining smaller groups and limited drink menu.
No matter what your ideas are, big or small, we can work with you and design exactly what you need to entertain your guests or just enjoy a night in by yourself.
